Today we celebrate because the hour of darkness is forever over. The Light has overcome. There is no body in the grave.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” -John 1:5

This is the eternal hope we have in Jesus- no matter what happens around us and to us, the reality of Jesus’ death and resurrection cannot be overcome.
Death has lost all sting because of what Jesus did for us.
Our current reality is not the conclusion. God already wrote our story, and it ends with Christ’s return. Because of the cross and resurrection, we can spend eternity with our Father. This is our eternal joy and hope.

Let us never forget what Jesus endured for us. When we remember what He did for us, we should be motivated to live for Him alone. We are forever changed because of Jesus.

“And when he was living as a man, he humbled himself and was fully obedient to God, even when that caused his death— death on a cross. So God raised him to the highest place. God made his name greater than every other name so that every knee will bow to the name of Jesus—everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. And everyone will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and bring glory to God the Father.” -Philippians 2:8-11

Butterflies represent transformation, hope, and personal growth. They are a reminder of the transforming work of Jesus. When a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, it stays in a dark chrysalis until it transforms and finds its way to the light as a beautiful butterfly. In the same way, Christ brings us into the light and beautifully transforms us, bringing us joy, freedom, peace, and love. No situation is too dark or hopeless for Christ to redeem.

Butterflies have always been special to us. Growing up, our favorite movie has always been Barbie Princess and the Pauper. In the opening scene, two butterflies represent how the two girls in the movie are connected. When our Gram gives us gifts, she has always included some kind of butterfly. Dolly Parton has always been an inspiration for us and brought us together, and butterflies are a symbol she incorporates into everything she does. And whenever we are doing something or going through something together, we always see butterflies. They are like a little God-wink, reminding us of His goodness, faithfulness, and promises.

So when thinking about getting a matching tattoo, it was clear we had to get butterflies! A constant reminder of our bond as sisters, built on the foundation of Christ’s redeeming love. 🦋

While singing at @cahababrewing yesterday, Allie’s Hope for Paws was set up at Cahaba’s Sweethearts Bazaar, so naturally Kitty had to adopt Maddie!! This non-profit dog rescue runs solely off of donations and was started after its founder rescued her first dog, Allie.
Maddie and her siblings were dumped at a park when someone picked them up and took them to AHFP. She’s been in and out of foster homes since then, and we are so excited for be her forever home!!

We can’t wait for many more adventures with Maddie, Kit+Char’s new groupie🤗

Dolly holds a special place in both of our hearts. For as long as we can remember, our granddad has taken our entire family to her hometown for Thanksgiving. Dolly is a perfect example of what it means to be a light and live a life of impact.
